Upcoming event

Introduction to Backyard Boiling
Maple Syrup Production for Beginners
Saturday, March 6, 2021
11:00am – 1:00pm

Join us on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm for an introduction to backyard boiling! We’ll cover when in spring is most opportune to tap, as well as identifying and locating healthy maple trees. You’ll even have the opportunity to tap a tree yourself with an old fashioned spile and pail. We’ll talk about the boiling process and what you’ll need for supplies to become a backyard boiler yourself! We’ll also take a leisurely walk through the woods, finding animal signs and discussing the makeup of the flora and fauna around us. We’ll provide hot beverages (tea, coffee and cocoa) and everyone will be gifted a maple whoopie pie to enjoy around the fire! Sorry, we will not have maple syrup for sale as we are only backyard tappers ourselves and are not certified to sell our syrup!

The event is limited to 16 people, so please register ahead so we can prepare adequately for the right number of people.

The price is $8 per person or $24 per family (regardless of number of children).

Please bring a mask to wear for moments when we are closer together. The entire event will be held outside and you will have adequate space for social distancing.
